Steel mill cranes (including hoists and molten steel handling cranes) must operate reliably in high-temperature environments exceeding 70°C around furnaces and molten steel. They are responsible for high-speed movement, precise positioning, and rotation of loads such as iron rods, steel ingots, and steel coils. In steel production, overhead cranes, electric arc furnaces, and rolling mills constitute the three core facilities of large-scale steel ingot or rolled steel production lines. Based on their operational nature, overhead cranes can be further categorized into heavy-duty, medium-duty, and light-duty types.
